LIVE TO THE RHYTHM OF THE CITY

Gateway to Corsica, Bastia offers the visitor its authentic beauty: its colorful buildings with slate roofs, its art de vivre, its traditions, its immense artistic and cultural heritage make it a city with deep Mediterranean charm. From the vast square Place St. Nicolas to the Marchet place, in the shade of century-old sycamores, it is wonderful to stroll in small walk-only streets, bordered by fancy boutiques where Corsican-made products are exposed with brio.

The typical small streets of Terra Vecchia meander up to the handle of the Vieux-Port, unavoidable cradle of the city and meeting place of fishermen and leisure lovers. The lively terraces of restaurants and cafes are an invitation to a relaxation break, before going to the quiet garden Romieu, leading directly to the Citadelle neighborhood, which houses the Palais des Gouverneurs, where are exposed the museum’s collections et offers a superb panorama from its hanging gardens.
