L’Ile-Rousse was founded in 1758 by Pasquale Paoli, a Corsican patriot leader, who designed and wrote the Constitution of the State, which was a representative democracy.

Nowadays, L’Ile-Rousse is charming and genuine village to visit, from the Marinella to the Market square, you will follow the narrow cobbled streets to discover some of the local artisans, to Paoli Square for a petanque game with a local tasting.

The Nature Reserve of Scandola, UNESCO World Heritage

Scandola is both a sea and land reserve, you will be among a succession of volcano cliffs that plunge into blue clear sea. Those cliffs are home to many protected species, such as the bearded vulture, the peregrine falcon or the corsican mouflon.

The sea environment hosts red coral, mother-of-pearl, sea urchins, lobsters, spider crabs or big dolphins you can see swimming from the boat. 

The excursion is a full day one including a swimming stop.
